Why ‘XO, Kitty’ Fans Think The Show Has Been Canceled And Won’t Get Season 4

Xo Kitty fans think the show has been cancelled

seven months later XO, Keith With season three hitting Netflix, we’re still waiting for official word on Kitty Song Covey’s future. In the absence of an announcement, fans have taken their questions directly to the cast and the answers that Anthony Keivan has been giving in his TikTok comments are not what they were hoping for.

Keivan, who plays Kitty’s best friend Q, asks questions about Season 4 in one of his latest TikToks. When one fan asked “Hey, where’s the next season,” Keyvan replied, “I’m holding your hand when I say that…” That exchange alone has garnered thousands of likes, and the video’s comment section now has over 700 comments.

He also didn’t bring back the panic elsewhere in the thread. A fan who wrote “UR TELLING ME THERES NOT GONA BE A NEXT SEASON OF XO KITTY” received a meme in response, as did another who asked, “Don’t mess up, season 4 is right.”

Keivan previously said the show was canceled back in July “It’s not coming…”

So it has XO, Keith Was it actually cancelled?

Not officially. Netflix hasn’t renewed the series, but it hasn’t canceled it either, and until the streamer says otherwise, the show remains in limbo.

We reached out to Netflix for comment on Friday, but didn’t hear back — we’ll let you know if we do.

It’s also worth pointing out what Keyvan didn’t say. There’s no announcement, no mention of Netflix’s decision, and nothing to tell us if he was told anything behind the scenes or if he’s just reading the room seven months later. Some fan posts describe this as confirmation, but a few cryptic comments don’t, and he’s also hurt and misled fans before.

Back in 2023, he specifically responded to someone saying, “There is no season 2.”

Back in May, Anna Cathcart told Us Weekly that Season 4 is “such a big question mark right now” and that the actress is still waiting for an answer. A lot could have changed since then, of course, but we haven’t heard from showrunner or creator Jenny Hahn. One fan pointed out on October 30 that Cathcart’s social profile had been updated to remove any mention. XO, Keith.

Here’s another important wrinkle: a season 4 that doesn’t happen won’t necessarily be the end of Keith’s story.

As we reported in July, Deadline reported that Paramount Television Studios had extended Netflix’s option on the series, giving the streamer more time to make a decision. Options on the table included a fourth season, a new setting in Seoul, or a movie to wrap things up. The actors’ options have also been expanded, keeping them available if Netflix orders more.

That’s why we haven’t started writing the obituary yet. If Keiwan’s comments are any indication, they’ll fit just as well in a recap movie as they would an outright cancellation. He also followed Han: to all boys They told three films and Summer became beautiful After three seasons, he is making a movie.

Why is the silence so unusual? XO, Keith

The reason fans are so pumped is because this show has never had to wait like this. Both of its previous renewals took place less than a month apart: Season 1 premiered on May 18, 2023 and was renewed on June 14, and Season 2 premiered on January 16, 2025 and was renewed on February 14.

Season 3 premiered on April 2, 2026. After seven months, we have nothing.

And it’s not like the numbers were crunched. We’re holding our hands here: When Season 3 debuted, we called Season 4 a foregone conclusion, and on paper it’s still hard to argue against one. Season 3 opened at #1 on the English TV charts with 12.9 million views and has amassed 29.3 million views through June 30, good enough for 16th place on Netflix’s What We Watched for the first half of 2026.

There’s been some spoiling, as you’ll see from the first three weeks of each season, but drops like we’ve seen elsewhere on Netflix:

season Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 3-week total
Season 1 14.2 m 12.5 m 5.9 m 32.6 m
Season 2 14.2 m 9.2 m 3.7 m 27.1 m
Season 3 12.9 m 7.8 m 3.0 m 23.7 m

By Week 3, Season 3 was 12% behind Season 2 and 27% behind Season 1. It was good, but we speculated at that point that the show might end its final season, with a 4th or 5th season.

Just last week, in the late 2026 update projections, we had XO, Keith Below, as a tentative update, possibly as the final season, however, we note that this is head-scratching and the longer it goes on, the worse the potential outcome. We’re not ruling it out because of a few TikTok comments, but they don’t really help, and the movie looks just as believable as the full fourth season.

For now, the ball remains in Netflix’s court. We’ll update this post as soon as we hear anything official.
