Batman 2 Spoiler: BTS Photo Teases Two-Face, Victor Zsasz & Court Of Owls

“Batman: Part II” is currently filming, with director Steven Soderbergh serving as director on set and Matt Reeves reportedly dealing with a family crisis. The plot of the film is shrouded in mystery – it has not yet been confirmed which characters are played by new actors Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry and Charles Dance. But naturally, rumors have flown, and a new leak may confirm some.

For a long time, it was speculated that Sebastian Stan would play Harvey Dent/Two-Face, with Johansson expected to play his wife Gilda Dent and Dance as his abusive father Christopher Dent. But in June of this year, scout Jeff Snyder announced that Henry would play Dent and that Stan would play Victor Zass. (A rich guy turned serial killer with a penchant for carving up the flesh of his victims, Zass is the kind of bad guy who would fit into the dark world established in Reeves’ Batman.)

Snyder’s report appears to be courtesy of a leak from Heidi Klum’s makeup department. Let me explain. The supermodel is known for her elaborate Halloween costumes. This year he left with a cut hand. Mike Marino, the makeup artist who designs Klum’s costumes, was also a makeup artist on “Batman” and is returning for “Part 2.” In some detective work worthy of Batman himself, fans spotted what appeared to be props from “Batman Part II” in a video showing Klum’s 2026 costume being made.

The props include what looks very much like Brian Tyree Henry’s face with a distorted lip, or two-face. There’s also a box labeled “Zsasz” and, most interestingly, a box labeled “Owl 3,” which is believed to refer to the Court of Owls, an evil secret society in Gotham.

The Court of Owls in the Batman comics, explained

If this leak is true, fans who have been gearing up for Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent should be killing themselves with disappointment. But at the same time, Jas is the kind of role that will allow her to stretch her acting legs. Brian Tyree Henry in Two Faces is also promising because the man knows how to play a good guy turned villain – check out his incredible voice acting as Megatron in the animated prequel Transformers One.

But what about owls? Created in 2011 by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, the Owls have been manipulating Gotham from the shadows for hundreds of years. They feature owl-themed masks and employ similarly themed immortal assassins called Talons. (The creative, out-of-this-world reason for owl themes is that owls eat bats.) They’re usually ignored as a myth in Gotham, to the point where they’re even the subject of their own nursery rhyme:

“Beware of the Court of Owls, who are ever watching, ruling Gotham from a shadowy perch, behind granite and limestone. They watch you at your hearth, watch you in your bed, speak not a whispered word to them, or they will send a talon upon your head..“

The original “Court of Owls” story is widely considered a modern classic. Many Bat fans, not to mention Robert Pattinson, have long heralded the Court as the perfect villain for a “Batman” sequel. This movie was about Bruce Wayne investigating the institutional corruption of Gotham City. This makes the Court of Owls a thematically consistent villain for ‘Part Two’ – what if Batman continues to peel back these layers and discovers that the rot runs even deeper and is centuries old?

“Batman: Part II” is currently scheduled to hit theaters on February 18, 2028.
