From manga inspirations in Brazil to the prestigious studio 4°C in Tokyo, Masaya Inaba will share the journey that led him to Japanese animation and his quest to make it a traditional craft in Japan. Through production examples and personal reflections on ChaO, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc 3, All You Need is Kill, and MUTAFUKAZ, he will offer a rare behind-the-scenes look at the creation of complex animation sequences. This includes working with traditional anime artists and the relationship between hand-drawn animation, background art and CGI – showing how digital tools can extend, rather than replace, the traditions of Japanese animation.

For me, working in anime production as a CGI artist is not just about creating 3D assets or using technology. It’s about understanding how different people work, bringing their skills together and helping their work shine – it’s about expressing stories and emotions through moving images.

I was happy
