Full of WTF moments in a movie that really stands out You can see everything This is a full-frontal moment of Elizabeth Holmes’ partner Billy Evans in the shower. It really puts the “everything” in the title. Earlier this week, we reported that co-director Lance Oppenheim said in an interview that the scene was Evans’ idea. Now, People magazine is reporting that it wasn’t Evans’ idea at all, and in fact, she felt insulted. let’s go in
Another layer of deception?
For a film that’s about what’s real and what’s manipulative, this dispute adds a further layer to the whole issue. One side says that the idea to film Evans naked was his idea; The other side says it wasn’t. Like many of the questions raised in the film, this one may be impossible to resolve.

After the interview with Oppenheim was published, a source close to Evans told People:
The shower scene was not Bill’s idea. He only agreed to it on the understanding that they would keep it PG. To find out otherwise through the media would be disturbing to anyone, to say the least. It’s a breach of trust and exploiting that trust for shock value.
This directly contradicts what Oppenheim told the interviewer. Oppenheim claimed the idea was Evans’s, after Oppenheim told him that Evans was showered after a trip to the gym, and Oppenheim and co-director Nathan Fielder stayed with Holmes and Evans until the former Theranos CEO went to prison in 2023 on fraud charges.
According to Oppenheim:
I offered to shoot it in a way that avoided her genitalia, but Billy said he didn’t mind being naked.
So once again, as an audience, we are left here trying to decipher the truth. There are two sides to every story, but honestly, like most things You can see everythingIt seems like there is more to every story in this movie. It might be more cut and dry than Holmes manipulating Fielder, or vice versa, but it’s still impossible to know what the hell is going on here.
What is not in dispute is how big this movie has become. Not only is it already one of the highest-grossing documentaries of all time, it’s getting Oscar buzz and people everywhere can’t stop talking (and sometimes booing) about it. You can see everything in the movie (including Billy Evans), but you can’t trust anything.
